" We are looking for models of all types of colour and ethnic backgrounds so that we can add diversity to the current model selection in Tanzania. MARIDADI has been blessed with working with aspiring models who are not only beautiful but have character and potential for success both locally and internationally. We are delighted this year to see all types of entries for the competition. We also thank the radio interviews on CLOUDS FM and 102.5 CHOICE FM for giving us a huge boost and publicity for the competition. We now get requests from all over the country from models and designers who would like to partake in our competition or annual fashion show.
Today has been a break through for MARIDADI as we received our first Albino aspiring model entrant who goes by the name of PABLO. We did an article on the MARIDADI BLOG in January of all the famous Albino models around the world, with the hope that this would encourage aspiring Albino models in Tanzania to enter. Our prayers have been answered with PABLO'S entry and we are over excited about the photo he sent in as it shows great potential. He is a natural, not only in poise but has the confidence of a seasoned model and fantastic facial features.
Due to height restrictions for male models, as per MARIDADI competition rules, we were unable to enter him into the competition but we look forward to encouraging him and nurturing him to work with magazines and advertising companies as a model. MARIDADI will keep pushing the boundaries for diversity in the Tanzanian model industry. "
