                                                            THE IVORY COLLECTION



MAMA MOMELLA was the finale for MARIDADI fashion show this year and the message from the collection was clear: STOP IVORY POACHING!

                             Models stomped the runway with bloody tusks adorned on their arms.

                                       " Every 15 minutes an elephant dies at the hands of a poacher "

 It was 'fashion art' at it's best, gruesome trunks on pretty dresses. What a contrast but soo professionally executed by the models.

                                                
Models demonstrated with placards in perfect unison down the runway.  It's the first ' walk for elephants ' that has ever been done on a runway show worldwide. It also coincided with the global walk for elephants.

A sad ending to the show? Well reality rarely has a happy ending especially when it involves destruction of animals and nature and we must not forget that without wildlife there is no tourism.
